The DC Power Jack or the internal on board power connector on laptops is a known weak spot, and a very common breakdown in laptops. The laptops DC Power Jack is not designed for any type of abuse. Due to the poor design of the internal DC Jack Power Connector, the mobility of, and the delicate nature of laptops & notebooks and it's electronics,, this IS a very common problem, #1 repair on laptops. The power jack is a very small component, part plastic usually in a metal casing with very small power pics soldered to the motherboard. One to many hard pulls, "tugs" on the power cord or any accidental stress on the laptop internal power connector can weaken, and eventually break the connection. Overtime, if not careful just normal use plugging in, and un-plugging can also weaken the connection.
Most times when this begins to happen is you will find the laptop switching over to battery power when the cord is plugged into laptop,,, switches back & forth on it's own. Sometimes you'll find if you hold or wiggle the cord into a certain position you get power from the cord, and battery charges. THIS IS WHEN TO GET THIS REPAIRED!
Operating the laptop with this intermittent power problem can short, power surge the motherboard, or the on-board power fuse regulator. In which you'll have a broken DC Jack, and a damaged motherboard on the laptop. The only repair on a damaged motherboard is replacement.

Laptop Shipping Recommendations:
For shipping, pack your laptop well! 3" of bubble wrap & packing "peanuts" is recommended. USPS free boxes DO NOT provide enough room, or space to properly pack your laptop for shipping. I have recieved laptops so poorly packed they have arrived with broken screens or in pieces. Poorly packed laptops will be shipped right back to you, and will not be serviced. The box and packaging you send/ship with is the same box and packaging I ship laptop back to you with.
Also advise purchasing shipping insurance, for any damages or loss during transit, and with "tracking" for your laptop.
FedEx and UPS has some nice laptop packing boxes specifically designed for shipping/protecting laptops, and they will even pack your laptop for you.
You can pull the hardrive out, if you would like,, for it is not required or needed for DC Power Jack Repair or Laptop LCD Screen Repairs. If you send the laptop with hard drive, no worries your data is strictly confidential.

12 Month Limited Warranty On Laptop DC Power Jack Repairs:
Laptop DC Jack repair comes with a limited 1 year warranty if the DC Jack fails under normal working conditions within the first year. Physical, accidental abuse to the power cord and the laptops DC Jack is not covered. Warranty is void if non-original replacement adapter is used, or if no AC adapter is sent with the laptop. Warranty is void if the laptop has been worked on, repaired, or opened up by another individual or company.
